Data Centre

NextGenAccess delivers state-of-the-art datacentre services from multiple Tier 3 facilities. Instead of housing your hardware and applications in your own IT environment we provide a highly resilient, high powered, secure environment with a multitude of diverse connectivity options.

Businesses decide to co-locate to reduce operating expenses, increase security or to guarantee uptime for business critical systems. Co-located servers have the benefit of all local services including direct pre-wired redundant Ethernet connectivity to the backbone, housing within an environmentally controlled environment and 24 hour by 365-day operation. Power, air conditioning and telecoms are 100% diverse, allowing us to operate independently of any one supplier.

Cabinet Specification

Each rack is either 42u or 47u of available space, supplied with a 20amp protected single phase mains supply split over 2 distributions, The 4 way high volume extraction fans in the roof increase air flow through the cabinet, whilst the perforated raised floor tiles feed conditioned air from the forced cooling system (maintained at 20°C). Each cabinet offers easy access to the front and rear for installation and maintenance.

Internet access is provided over 10/100/1000 Ethernet direct from the core switches. Customers can purchase as much or as little bandwidth as they require, and upgrades can be completed within 1 working day. Bandwidth provided to co-located equipment is classed as "Zero Length" and priced on maximum available bandwidth per second.

Rack Space

Rack space can be provided on a per "u" basis or per half or full cabinet. Rack cabinets, power distribution and networking equipment are all provided for in house. All customers need to do is plug their equipment in, everything else is ready to go. Customers have the choice of plugging directly into a core ethernet switch or through their own firewall or switch.

Managed Colocation

Colocation racks in one of our facilities provides either a single, half or quarter rack in a community area. A colocation floor in the data centre contains many racks, with equipment from many customers, all running different applications with similar data centre requirement for security, power and cooling.

Each collation rack includes:

  • Individual secured locks
  • Own power feeds
  • Internal power distribution and metering
  • Cooling duplicated to N+N standards

Standard racks are:

  • 600mm wide by 1000mm deep
  • Full racks are 42U, half racks are 20U, quarter racks are 10U
  • Equipped with internal power strips
  • Equipped with internal metering
  • Optionally equipped with IP-controlled power cycle switching

If required, a set a racks can be isolated inside a collocated rack cage.

Private Suites

Private suites are designated areas in one of our colocation facilities that are enclosed by their own walls and fitted out to your specific needs. The facilities provide you with the ability to build a mini data centre exactly as you want it but with all the benefits of a large professional colocation data centre.

No one can enter or see into your area without your authority.

The area is specified to your exact requirements including:

  • Multiple security and access controls to any level
  • Custom electrical plant
  • Custom cooling plant and specification
  • Fire and monitoring arrangements
  • Levels of redundancy and protection

You can also include technical office space, equipment configuration areas and spares storage within the Private Suite.

Private Suites are economically viable with as few as four racks, and are usually built on medium and long-term contracts.

Caged Areas

If a more secure, private co-location environment is required, additional security and privacy can be provided in the form of a caged area.

Cages are tough wire framed areas that enclose your equipment and separates it from the rest of the data floor. Access to caged areas is only provided to named individuals and is via lockable doors. Additional biometric security can also be provided if required.

The caged area can also be used for equipment and tool storage.

Main features of caged areas include:

  • 2N redundant power
  • Redundant A+B dual power feeds to individual racks
  • A range of power density options
  • N+N cooling
  • Metered billing
  • Secure caged area with multiple access controls as required
